Orientation

The Australian Medical Council has a list of useful resources for helping IMGs become oriented into the Australian healthcare landscape. Please find a list of College resources here.

Training Time and Exposures

When looking for a position in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand, you may find it helpful to start with CICM's list of accredited intensive care units. A list of accredited paediatric sites can be found here. If you are required to undertake rural training, please see T-34 Guidelines for the Regional, Rural or Remote Training Term, along with the Aotearoa New Zealand Supplement if required.

Exam Support

Some SIMGs may have the requirement to complete the CICM Second Part Examination (or Second Part Paediatric Examination). Examination dates, application information, and resources can be found here for the general examination and here for the paediatric examination. You may also be interested in CICM's Online Education Program (OEP), which offers online education sessions for the general pathway, basic sciences, paediatrics, and First and Second Part Exam VIVA practice.

Other Resources

As part of your SIMG interim assessment, you may have received the requirement to complete a number of assessments. More information on each of these assessments can be found below:
