Visiting Medical Officer Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine

Lismore Base Hospital is seeking a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine to provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Intensive Care services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care and to provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Visiting Medical Officer - Intensivist

Role Description: Port Macquarie Base Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Intensivist to join our dynamic team as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing contemporary, comprehensive specialist care for ICU/HDU patients in collaboration with co-admitting VMOs. They will play a key role in teaching and supporting junior doctors within the unit and across the hospital. Additionally, the role involves close liaison with patients and families to ensure compassionate care, active participation in the hospital's quality and safety initiatives, and contribution to research undertaken in the unit.

Staff Specialist or Postgraduate Fellow in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine

Role Description:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to critically ill children across the Hunter New England Local Health District and the Northern Child Health Network.
  • Participate in teaching, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Management of deteriorating and seriously ill paediatric patients outside the intensive care unit including advice and support of regional hospitals and retrieval physicians in stabilising and transporting critically ill children to tertiary centres, as well as intra-hospital transport of critically ill paediatric patients.
