| Foundation |
Intensive care training completed in this unit may be accredited
towards Foundation training

| Limited General Training (Gen6) |
A maximum of six months of intensive care training completed in this
unit may be accredited towards Core training
|
| General Training (Gen12) |
A maximum of twelve months of intensive care training completed in
this unit may be accredited towards Core training
|
| General Training (Gen24) |
Intensive care training completed in this unit may be accredited
towards Core training
|
| Affiliated Unit |
Affiliated Units are not accredited for training in their own right
but are approved as an adjunct to the nearby ‘parent’
unit.
|
| Cardio |
The unit provides suitable exposure to the sub-specialty of
Cardiothoracic intensive care
|
| Neuro |
The unit provides suitable exposure to the sub-specialty of
Neurological / Neurosurgery intensive care
|
| Trauma |
The unit provides suitable exposure to the sub-specialty of
Trauma intensive care
|
| AP(12) |
Trainees (on the general pathway) are required to spend 12 months in
the unit in order to satisfy the paediatric exposure requirement
|
| AP(6) |
Trainees (on the general pathway) are required to spend 6 months in
this unit in order to satisfy the paediatric exposure requirement
|
| Rural |
Training in this unit may satisfy the rural exposure requirement
|
You may notice, that your unit may have been reclassified as either
‘Limited General Training (G6)’ or ‘General Training
(Gen)’. The classification for P(6) and P(12) has been changed to
include AP(6) and AP(12), this is referring to Adult Paediatrics.
It
is important to know, that although the ‘term’ has changed
– your accreditation will remain the same.
