National Reconciliation Week at CICM ASM 2026
It was truly “All In” during National Reconciliation Week
(NRW) at ASM 2026 in Sydney last week, held on the lands of the Gadigal people
of the Eora Nation.
Observed during NRW each year, this week invites all
Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures, and achievements—and
to consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in a meaningful
way.
Aligned with our NRW theme, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,”
the CICM heart took pride of place at the centre of one of the two commissioned
artworks, brought to life over two days in the Exhibition Hall. One piece spoke
directly to the heart of the theme, while the other honoured the past,
acknowledged where we stand today, and encouraged reflection on the future we
want to create together.
Through pathways and meeting places, the artworks symbolised
connection, shared experiences, and the many journeys that bring people
together.
Delegates were invited to engage with the
artworks—contributing their own brushstrokes and becoming part of a shared
experience.
The College sincerely thanks Jason and Trevor from Dalmarri
for their storytelling and cultural guidance, as well as everyone who took the
time to view and help create these meaningful pieces.
