Important Trainee Regulations Changes

 

The CICM Board have recently approved two important changes to the CICM training regulations that come into effect for the 2026 medical training year. 

The regulations impacted are; 

  • Interruption to Training
  • Annual Training Fee

College documentation, related policies and website pages are currently being updated to reflect the changes. A new interruption to training application form has been developed and available on the college website. 
These changes will enable the college to: 

  • Better track trainee locations, allowing for proactive support and ensuring appropriate supervision. 
  • Reduce the financial burden on CICM trainees undertaking training with other colleges. 
  • Provide the Board and College Committees with more accurate trainee data, enabling them to identify trends in the trainee journey, better understand trainee progress and address emerging issues.
