In order for training time to be recognised, all trainees are required to submit an Approval of Vocational Training (AVT) form prior to commencement of the term. The College uses this AVT form to determine whether certain training positions are appropriate for accreditation.
Trainees must complete an application for approval of their proposed training post for assessment by the Censor within 30 days of commencing the post, but preferably prior to their commencement date.
The AVT must be submitted online in via the Members Portal before a signed copy is forwarded to the College.

At the end of each approved period of training, Supervisors in conjunction with their colleagues will submit a completed ITER to the College. An ITER needs to be submitted to the College before subsequent training can be approved.
Steps for completing the ITER:
FITER (Current Curriculum)
A Final In-Training Evaluation Report (FITER) must be submitted upon completion of 12 months transition training via the member’s portal.
A Final In-Training Assessment (FITA) must be submitted after a trainee has completed all of their training and non-training requirements. The FITA is currently a hard copy form and cannot be submitted via the online ITER system.

The ITER for Intensive Care Training is to be completed by the designated Supervisor for that unit only.
The ITER can be discussed in conjunction with the Unit Director and other Consultants; however, final completion of the ITER must be by the designated Supervisor.

Only the Supervisor nominated in the AVT form has access to your ITER records.
The Supervisor will have access to the record for the duration of the term plus one month after the end date of term.
If the AVT form has not been submitted and/or has an outstanding invoice for the training, the ITER will not appear.
The College will require written confirmation from the current Supervisor with details about the change.
Once the record has been updated by the College, only the new Supervisor will have access to the ITER record(s).
Yes. The trainee’s self-assessment will be available once the Supervisor’s assessment has been finalised and the Proceed button has been clicked.
No. Currently there is no functionality which allows an ITER to be saved to a computer / device.
