Brain Death Testing DVD
A copy of the Brain Death Testing DVD was recently sent to all of our accredited hospitals to incorporate as an educational resource.

To request more copies of the Brain Death Testing DVD please contact Heather Dick Pere, heatherd@cicm.org.au

In 2014, The College was awarded money by the Department of Health under the Rural Health Continuing Education Sub-Program (RHCE) Stream One, which is managed by the Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges. The funding granted was used to produce an educational video on the subject of Brain Death Testing Certification. This concise video was developed for medical specialists particularly in a rural ICU setting. It demonstrates the diagnosis of brain death, based on the latest ANZICS statement of brain death and organ donation.
College Christmas Closure
The college will be closed from Friday 25 December and re-opening on Monday 4 January 2016.

ASM 2016

Mark this in your calendar!

Abstract Submissions Open 10 December

The 2016 ASM will be like no other. With the theme of Minds and Machines, we have
gone beyond the focused single system conference to look at areas integral to the day to day management of our patients. While this conference has a neuro-critical care bent it will also appeal to a much wider audience. The proposed presentations will help us optimise our performance as individual clinicians, as well as in our relationship with machines and devices, and by providing a critical examination of the management of ICU and oversight of the provision of ICU services, including at a college level.

This conference promises to be informative and provocative and should not be missed. We would like to invite researchers to submit abstracts either relating directly to the theme of Minds and Machines, or those of high quality papers with more general interest.

Felicity Hawker Medal Presentations
CICM trainees are invited to submit an abstract related to their Formal Project. The best  four submissions will be invited to present their project at the Felicity Hawker Session of the ASM.

Best Free Paper Session
We invite researchers to submit their project for presentation at this important session of the ASM. Projects relating to the theme of Mind and Machines will be well suited to this session.

Short Paper Session
Researchers are invited to submit for the Short Paper Session.  This session will be held concurrently with the Best Free Paper Session on Saturday 4 June 2016.

Join us in Adelaide for what promises to be a topical, lively event that is not to be missed.
