Trainee Survey
A reminder to all trainees who have recently completed accredited training, you still have time to complete the Trainee Survey.  The survey is open until Tuesday 31 March and is a fantastic opportunity to provide feedback on your most recent experience. This also allows the College to review and develop the Training Program and improve Supervisor and Trainee resources.
To access the survey, please see the email sent by the College on 23 February and click the attached link.
Please contact Caitlin Gheller either at the College Office or at caitling@cicm.org.au if you have any questions.
Norva Dahlia Foundation Study Grant
The Norva Dahlia Study Grant is made available by a donation from the family of Norva Dahlia Potter, who was cared for by Dr Lindsay Worthley at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Its purpose is to assist Fellows or Advanced Trainees of the CICM in furthering their professional and scientific training in intensive care medicine.

The Grant may be used for a specific short term project, or for costs associated with a short period of study overseas. (Attendance at an overseas conference would not normally be regarded as a period of study.) Recipients will be expected to deliver a tangible outcome from the project or period of study, for example a publication or presentation at a significant scientific meeting.
Value: Up to $5,000
Eligibility: Current CICM Fellows or Advanced Trainees
Priority: Recently graduated Fellows (within 5 years of graduation)
Closing Date:  24 April 2015
Grant applications will be reviewed by an assessment panel appointed by the CICM Board. A maximum of two grants will be awarded in any one year.

Projects and study should be of direct relevance to intensive care practice and of a high scientific standard. Applications will be considered in both basic and applied research in addition to a period of defined study with demonstrable return to the intensive care community.
A final report will be due at the end of the project.
For more information and to request an application form, please contact Phil Hart by email at philh@cicm.org.au
Training Time in One Unit
A reminder to all trainees and Supervisors that the maximum accredited time that can be spent in any one unit is 24 months.
It is particularly important for trainees to be familiar with this Regulation when applying for positions and for Supervisors when they provide advice and guidance to trainees.
If you have any questions or concerns about current or future positions, we encourage you to contact the College to discuss your situation.
Training Reminder
Have you started your 2015 training post yet?
Don’t forget to send us your signed, prospective Application for Vocational Training (AVT) within 30 days of commencing your post. If you are completing additional or unaccredited training, this form is still required in order to keep an active College membership.

For details on how to submit your AVT, please refer to AVT Submission Instructions. If you have any questions, please contact us at training@cicm.org.au
