Board Elections
The 2015 Board Elections are currently underway, the College posted out the election pack to all Fellows early this week. If you have not received your pack by next week, please contact Lisa Davidson on lisad@cicm.org.au.
The College Constitution currently dictates the Board Elections must occur via postal vote. It is hoped that in the future these elections could be conducted online however a change to the Constitution must be passed by the Fellowship. Therefore at the Annual General Meeting in Darwin this year, Fellows in attendance will be asked to vote on a motion to include the option of electronic voting for Board Elections in the Constitution. We encourage all Fellows attending the conference to attend the AGM and cast a vote.

Board Report
The February Board Meeting Report is available on the website here. The report outlines the discussions at Board including hospital accreditation updates, formal project statistics and other training and education matters. We encourage all Fellows and trainees to read the reports as this is an extremely important way the Board communicates with the membership.
Norva Dahlia Foundation Study Grant
The Norva Dahlia Study Grant is made available by a donation from the family of Norva Dahlia Potter, who was cared for by Dr Lindsay Worthley at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Its purpose is to assist Fellows or Advanced Trainees of the CICM in furthering their professional and scientific training in intensive care medicine.

The Grant may be used for a specific short term project, or for costs associated with a short period of study overseas. (Attendance at an overseas conference would not normally be regarded as a period of study.) Recipients will be expected to deliver a tangible outcome from the project or period of study, for example a publication or presentation at a significant scientific meeting.
Value: Up to $5,000
Eligibility: Current CICM Fellows or Advanced Trainees
Priority: Recently graduated Fellows (within 5 years of graduation)
Closing Date:  7 May 2015
Grant applications will be reviewed by an assessment panel appointed by the CICM Board. A maximum of two grants will be awarded in any one year.

Projects and study should be of direct relevance to intensive care practice and of a high scientific standard. Applications will be considered in both basic and applied research in addition to a period of defined study with demonstrable return to the intensive care community.
A final report will be due at the end of the project.
For more information and to request an application form, please contact Phil Hart by email at philh@cicm.org.au
