Nomination of CICM Fellows as Mentors for CICM Trainees
The CICM Mentoring Program team would like to thank ICU Directors and SOTs for your fantastic support for the Rural Trainee Mentoring Pilot Project.
This pilot will recruit a network of FCICM mentors from metropolitan, rural, and regional places, for CICM trainees undergoing 2024 rural placements in Australia (as defined by current CICM guidelines).
Mentors will provide ongoing support to their mentees during the 12 months pilot and beyond. If successful, the program will be rolled out to all CICM trainees in 2025/26.
If you haven't already done so, now is the time to register Fellows within your unit, who you consider would make excellent mentors to CICM trainees. Please use this form below to start the nomination process.
Nomination to be lodged by COB Friday 20 October 2023.
You can recommend yourself, however we request you consider your team as a whole and discuss this request with your colleagues. To give you a guide, in each unit, between 1 in 2 and 2 in 3 consultants would have significant skills and the mindset required to share their experiences with their professional colleagues as a mentor.

Thank you in advance for your help. Once we've received the names of your suitably nominated Fellows for this important role, we'll write to them with further details, and ask them to fill out a program enrolment form.
