Adelaide Tracheostomy Course September 2026
The Adelaide Tracheostomy Course faculty is led by Intensive Care Specialists. Professor Shailesh Bihari, Dr Alpesh Patel and Dr Steven Galluccio, and ENT Consultants Professor Eng Ooi and Dr Theo Athanasiadis. The supporting faculty is made up of very experienced and highly trained surgeons, intensivists, nursing and allied health professionals who are all experts in their field.

• Lectures
• Hands-on workshops
• Panel discussion
• Animal Cadaver Dissection
• Live Animal Dissection
• Human Cadaver Dissection
Course Covers:
• Technique of percutaneous and surgical tracheostomy including airway management
• Care of tracheostomy / laryngectomy patients including management of complications
• Role of the multidisciplinary team
• Weaning and decannulation pathways

Day 1: 60 Medical / Allied Health / Nursing
Day 2: 15 Dissectors (9 Beginners*, 6 Advanced)
* Within 2 years of training or performed less than 10 tracheostomies
Registration includes program material, lunch, morning and afternoon teas
