Training - Training Overseas

A maximum of 48 months training may be spent outside Australia, New Zealand or Hong Kong.  At least 12 months of the two core Advanced Training Years must be undertaken in an intensive care unit in Australia, New Zealand, or Hong Kong accredited as C24. (Refer Regulation 5.7.8.)

Core Advanced Training in Intensive Care must be completed in a unit accredited by the College.

However it is possible to prospectively apply to undertake 12 months of core training in an overseas ICU not currently accredited by the College.  Trainees must apply well in advance to the College and seek approval via the Training Committee.
