Prospective approval of Advanced Training (AVT)

Trainees must forward an application for approval of their proposed training post for assessment by the Censor within three months of commencing in the post, but preferably prior to their commencement date.

In-Training Assessment (ITA)

All trainees must have assessments completed by the discipline Supervisor of Training. For basic and advanced ICU positions 6-monthly assessments are required. 3-monthly assessments may be completed for anaesthesia, medicine or elective positions if the position is less than 6 months duration. 

Please note, In-training Assessment forms (ITA) must be submitted to the College within 2 weeks of completing each 3 - 6 month block of training.

Final In-Training Assessment (FITA)

Once trainees have completed all their advanced training, a FITA must be signed off. It is essential that this form is completed by the SOT who supervised the last Intensive Care training post.
