Training - How Do I Register

Welcome to the College of Intensive Care Medicine's online application process.

The following should be read in conjunction with the CICM Regulations.

Application Process

Applicants will be required to complete the following online process and credit card payment (Visa and MasterCard only) in order to register with the College. You must have a valid email address to proceed and following payment, you will be directed to print off the registration form and send to the College. Your application will NOT be processed until the original registration form is physically received by the College.

Documentation

Your registration form should be accompanied by all documentary evidence of previous training and qualifications you list in your application. Suitable evidence consists of original documentation or photocopies that have been certified by a Justice of the Peace.

Letters of appointment are not considered suitable evidence for training. In order to have retrospective training considered by the Censor it must be in the form of a letter of service. The letter of service must detail the specific dates and discipline of each term, including your level of seniority during these posts.

Training in intensive care, clinical anaesthesia and clinical internal medicine that you have previously completed may impact on your remaining training requirements. It is important to include as much information as possible in order for the Censor to perform an accurate assessment.

We understand that for some applicants, suitable evidence for all of your previous training and qualifications may not be readily available. However, in order for your registration to be assessed and approved by the Censor, any outstanding documentation (i.e. not sent with your registration form) must be sent in as soon as possible for consideration.

All documents provided to the College will be returned to you following the processing of the registration.

Responsibility

It is your responsibility to:

  1. be aware of the requirements of the College in relation to your registration;
  2. be aware of the requirements of the College in relation to retrospective
    and prospective accreditation of training;
  3. ensure that any applications for registration or for retrospective or
    prospective accreditation of training are received by the College by the
    relevant deadlines;
  4. ensure all required documentation is provided when requested.
