CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
CPD RESOURCES
The Colleges' CPD program was established in 2012 with the main objective of fostering continued learning of Fellows in order to improve standards of clinical practice.
The program cycle is two years, the first beginning in January 2012 and ending in December 2013, and requires participants to log activities in the
online diary. Activities and events are categorized and then placed in one of five Activity Groups.
Participation is compulsory for all CICM Fellows. Dual Fellows with ANZCA, ACEM or RACP may currently participate in CPD programs administered by these Colleges, but must provide the CICM with evidence of successful participation.
All participants are expected to complete the
Online Diary as there is no paper diary available.
Participants are required to obtain 100 points per cycle with minimum requirements for the following groups;
20 points from Activity Group 1 (Categories 1A & 1B, Self Learning)
20 points from Activity Group 2 (Categories 2A & 2B Group Learning)
20 points from Activity Group 3 (Categories 3A & 3B Quality Assurance and Patient Safety Activities)
Full details of the Activity Groups can be found in the
CPD Manual or the
Activity Framework document. A list of registered courses is available here. If a course you have attended is not on the list, you will need to choose the "General Activity" in the Online Diary and submit the details for assessment by the CPD Officer. If this is approved then the activity will be automatically added to your diary.
If you are running a course and you would like it to be added to our Registered List of Course, please click here for the Application Form. This process can take between 2-3 weeks.
Participants are expected to formulate a Personal CPD Plan at the beginning of each cycle, this plan will not be audited by the College and should be kept only for your own personal reference. A detailed guide on how to write your
Personal CPD Plan is available and there is also a "
Quick How-To Guide".
If you are a Non Fellow who wishes to participate in the program, the cost is $950.00 plus GST. Please contact
Lisa Davidson if you wish to register.
There is a comprehensive list of
